John Tyler definitely holds the record for having fathered the most amount of children of any president. In his two marriages Tyler fathered a staggering 15 legitimate children. There are also unconfirmed stories that he fathered children with many of his slaves too. Oral history among slaves confirms this, however it’s nearly impossible to prove by DNA, since all the children were eventually sold off.
